Well here comes the end of month. I have been successful in posting here three months in a row… Ha! That in itself is an accomplishment! So how did August end? My goal was met although it was a little past the time frame I hoped for. All in all I feel I had a successful month as the extra loan is paid off and somehow I managed to not use my credit card although I’m not quite sure how. Again I have a credit card I just never really use it, although a couple of times this month I felt as though I may not have a choice.
I have $150 in my checking and $150 in my savings.. I officially owe less than 20k on my car $18,911.00 to be exact. I still have a few medical bills to still pay, and I am still trying to come up with ways to make extra money.
In all feeling positive as this next month I will be able to allocate the $120.00 loan to medical bills so I may continue on my car loan quest. I hope to find out by end of month how much insurance money I will get to repair my roof.
So where does all of the above leave me for the month?? Feeling broke as hell but very relieved I have one less payment monthly and knowing with a little more discipline I will succeed in getting out of debt and on my way to early retirement!!
- Reduce Spending further
- Cancel my cable (Although I have the very basic cable you can get)
- Find more things to sell or find something to generate more income
- Research more frugal ways to live (I don’t think I have done very well in the department)
I really need to vent and since I’m practically the only who reads this I guess I will on here!
I’m second guessing my decision to follow this whole debt free plan. Now that I have this loan paid off I feel so poor…. This after feeling strong about my decision to aim for a debt free life over the weekend when one of my good friends purchased a 3D T.V. with surround sound extra viewing glasses the whole package!! Initially I was jealous and envious but then Mr. money moustache brain kicked in and said “you have a perfectly good working television why would you charge another one?”
I have dumped every extra extra penny I could obtain to paying off the loan and while it’s a good feeling to have it paid in full, I am now left with less than $100.00 to last me to pay day. It being only the 21st of the month I still have 11 days and a 1/2 tank of gas.. Needless to say to O’ Sh!% factor is starting to hit.
And the hits keep coming! My oven is broke needing a hot surface igniter the cost to fix it $65.00, my phone is broke, replacement comes in two days at a zero cost due to insurance and I’m still waiting to figure out all the insurance stuff on my house…(An adjuster states $20,700.00)
Maybe perhaps it’s time to dig deeper and find some more stuff sell as I continue this journey…
After reading the above I sound like a whiny brat! Then I think of the amazing great Glenn Shephard’s motto that “Work is not for sissies!” Well I guess it’s time to put on my big girl pants, suck it up, and make it work…
As of today my personal loan will be PAID IN FULL! Wooohooooo!!!!!!! I am super excited to reach this point. Although not easy and I am living out of my comfort zone with having so little left it was totally worth it! Saving 3 years of interest and making monthly payments I’ll take it.
So next I need to focus on paying off my medical bills from the procedure I had earlier this summer. I will use the monthly payment I make to my loan to pay these off. I will be increasing my monthly income by $100 starting next month for storing items at my house, I will use those funds as well to pay my medical accounts off.
In the mean time I must come up with $1000.00 to pay my deductible on my house/car from the storm damage our area sustained last week. Hmmm wonder if I’ll hit the power ball.. Oh yes one must buy a ticket first… Knowing this is not an option I will keep brainstorming to cover the deductible. My house and car had over $20,000.00 damage!
So the good news is…. Personal loan is paid!!! Not so good news is I need a fast thousand dollars. All in all a great feeling.
